To the Editor ,
We would like to thank the reviewers for their time and effort. Here are our comments on the letter to the editor sent by Prof. AlMendalawi regarding our article published in the Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation entitled, Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) as a biomarker for early renal damage in patients with sickle cell disease.
We agree that LDH is a nonspecific tool to measure kidney insufficiency and it is helpful to measure LDH isoenzyme pattern, with or without LDHp. This was stated in our discussion part as a limitation of the study and recommendation for future studies.
